Identity
Facts or Fallacies is a public misinformation-literacy and discrete claim-audit system. It is not a crowdsourcing platform, community vote, popularity ranking, forum for rumor accumulation, or paid gate to factual source material.
Operating order
claim → provenance → source chain → record comparison → classification → limitations → publication
Public access
Published findings, methodology, corrections, and source citations are intended to remain publicly accessible without a reader paywall. Payment, membership, donation, or follower status does not change evidentiary weight.
Read-only initial architecture
The first standalone release has no public submission endpoint, no evidence-upload API, and no public write surface. Future submissions, if enabled, will enter as untrusted leads and will not publish themselves or alter a classification automatically.
Source hierarchy
The system distinguishes primary/official sources, qualified secondary sources, contextual material, submission leads, and provenance-deficient material. Primary means closest to the event or record—not automatically infallible.
Classification boundary
Facts or Fallacies separates supported, mixed, false, unsupported, unresolved, and non-fact-testable components. It does not use “false” merely because support was not found.
Creator-accountability boundary
Public creators may be identified when necessary for provenance, propagation, or correction history. The site evaluates published claims and observable sourcing behavior without diagnosing people, inventing motives, doxxing, or inviting harassment.
Relationship to Record, Not Rumor
Record, Not Rumor remains the canonical home for subject-specific source records it already audits. Facts or Fallacies may cite those records and explain how a claim formed or spread rather than duplicating a competing evidentiary archive.
Repository separation
Facts or Fallacies has its own private source repository, release history, deployment target, and domain boundary. It is not developed inside the Record, Not Rumor, Lotus, Luxeberry, Stevie Belfiore, or Aletheia repositories.
Source-of-truth law
The owner-controlled private Git repository is the canonical source repository. Production changes should move through branch, reviewable diff, automated verification, preview where applicable, and merge to main.
Git is not backup until the checkpoint exists outside the working environment.
Domain migration law
factsorfallacies.com and www.factsorfallacies.com are attached to the standalone Facts or Fallacies production project. The pre-launch forwarding state to Record, Not Rumor is retained as the documented rollback configuration. A domain move is treated as complete only when the release checkpoint, READY deployment, canonical metadata, sitemap, security headers, and public smoke checks agree.
Production stop rule
After a production deployment or domain change: confirm READY → perform one smoke check → report → stop. A successful release is not permission for an unplanned refactor loop.
Machine-readable identity
The site uses visible methodology, descriptive metadata, canonical URLs, sitemap coverage, and structured data only where the page genuinely satisfies the schema type. It will not invent automation, backend, AI-processing, data-platform, or codebase claims merely to appear more sophisticated to search systems.
Creator identity
The site is created by Stevie Belfiore. The footer keeps the shared visual signature convention as plain, accessible text.
